Choice of materials

Timber laminated in three or four layers is more stable than solid wood, does not move with humidity and allows arches and curved shapes.

Solid timberSolid timberSolid pineNo visible joints, long sections free of natural defects, made for clear varnishes that show the grain
Finger-jointed laminated timberFinger-jointed laminateFinger-jointed pineDefect-free sections joined end to end by finger joints: maximum stability, ideal for opaque finishes

SKLO technical note: above a 3 m opening, or with strong sun exposure, we recommend 80 mm laminate — the dimensional stability is worth the extra cost

Glazing bars

They give a window character and echo classical architecture. We choose the type according to the look you want and the energy performance required.

With external aluminium cladding the bars are aluminium outside and timber inside — less maintenance, with the warmth of wood indoors

Available colours

Ten finish samples — nine shown in pine and one in raw meranti. The finish can be a stain, a RAL colour, clear lacquer or raw timber, and the full catalogue shows the palette on the other species we work with.

Thermal performance

Uw de 0,83 W/m²K on the reference window with triple glazing. Accepts glazing units up to 48 mm (fixed lights 24–28 mm), and the sealing gaskets combined with the natural mass of timber also help to damp outside noise.

Applications

Houses and refurbishments that call for the greatest mass of timber: an 80 mm frame for wide openings and better acoustic behaviour.

Finishes

Pine, spruce, meranti or oak, finished in a stain, a RAL colour, clear lacquer or raw timber, with a four-coat UV and water-repellent treatment applied in a spray booth.
