The task
SKLO has completed another steel framing project in France, developed for a villa whose architecture called for extremely slender profiles and very large openings, set into existing stone walls.
The SKLO solution
- Thermally broken Forster Unico system: specified by the client from the design stage, it is the basis of all 12 elements supplied.
- Cool-Lite Xtreme 70-33 glass (Ug = 1.0 W/m²K): it meets the thermal performance and solar control requirements without changing the architectural language of the building.
- Minimal profile sections: the high strength and stiffness of steel allow the visible section to be cut down considerably without compromising structural stability.
- Large openings: this is where the advantage of steel becomes decisive — the limit is no longer only aesthetic but structural too.
The result combines maximum daylight, minimal profiles and technical performance, staying entirely faithful to the architectural concept set for the project.
